Main topics of the ZELLCHEMING association

ZELLCHEMING is the platform for professional technical exchange for all those involved in the development of sustainable paper- and fiber-based products. The guiding principle is: The future in every fiber.

ZELLCHEMING sees itself as a link between science and manufacturing processes of paper- and fiber-based products and their marketing.

The ZELLCHEMING technical committees further develop technical topics and occupy new areas whose importance for the industry is growing. By highlighting best practices as well as standardization work, ZELLCHEMING drives knowledge transfer within the association, in research and industry.

Sustainability

Climate change has become the central topic of politics. The general core demand is the socially acceptable and at the same time climate-protective reduction of greenhouse gases. One of the tasks of the ZELLCHEMING association is to support, within the scope of its possibilities, the paper and fiber-based industry in assuming its role in the cycle-based bioeconomy.

Promoting young talent

A special focus is on the promotion of young scientists through awards, scholarships, financial and professional support.

To this end, the ZELLCHEMING association has launched a new platform. On the third day of the fair, the ZELLCHEMING Career Day celebrated a brilliant premiere. More than 300 young professionals, who had traveled to Wiesbaden in groups, filled the foyer and exhibition hall and spread out over ten customized program spots. These included, for example, the presentation of the ZELLCHEMING Young Talents Award, the keynote on the topic of “No need for run-of-the-mill-jobs – What Generation Z really wants”, a visit to the Newcomer Pavilion and a live guided tour in ABB’s demo truck, as well as participation in the Paper Rally, with professional game guidance.

“We have the ambition to make ZELLCHEMING even better every year. Our new initiatives, serve to bring the number and quality of members and the content formats further forward,” says Prof. Dr. Helga Zollner-Croll.
