WEPA was awarded the German Sustainability Award as a company in the “paper, cardboard and paperboard” sector. The award was presented on November 28th as part of the German Sustainability Day in Düsseldorf.
The German Sustainability Award is considered Europe’s leading award for ecological and social commitment and is the most prestigious sustainability award in Germany. This award is presented by the German Sustainability Award Foundation e.V.
With the award in the “Companies” category, the jury, made up of representatives from business, politics and society, honors 100 companies that provide the most convincing answers to the challenges of sustainability in their industries and drive change. The award winners are selected on the basis of detailed sustainability profiles. WEPA particularly highlighted the measures in the areas of recycling, climate, biodiversity and water management, all of which are integral parts of the WEPA sustainability strategy.
