After having been postponed because of the pandemic, the dates of the eleventh edition of the Maqpaper international fair are finally set on the calendar: October 19 and 20, 2022. The Fair will be held face-to-face at the venue Modernist El Escorxador de Igualada (Barcelona). The organizing entity, Fira d’Igualada, has chosen these dates because it is when it anticipates that there will no longer be air restrictions for international exhibitors who want to attend the event, and that the fair can be held with total security for attendees.
Fira de Igualada was forced to cancel the Maqpaper edition that was to be held in June 2020 and to postpone the 2021 edition scheduled for April until October due to sanitary measures. Finally, it can be held in ten months with the same theme planned as the central axis: the replacement of plastic by paper, one of the main environmental challenges facing the industry and which has already become a great opportunity for the paper industry, since paper and cardboard are the materials that can best replace plastic in their daily uses. “From plastic to paper” is the slogan of the contest that will bring together in Igualada the main suppliers of the cellulose, paper and corrugated cardboard industry from all over the State. Among the exhibitors there will be companies of machinery, accessories, clothing, chemical products, inks, workshops, engineering and the environment, and the visitors will be attended by production, quality and laboratory managers from the main industries of the sector from several countries Europeans.
As a reminder, Maqpaper is an international fair for the paper industry that, since 1999, has been held every two years in Igualada (Barcelona), organized by the Igualada Fair with the support of the Igualada City Council and the Unió Empresarial de l’Anoia. The next edition is expected to be able to bring together around fifty companies from the paper industry.
