The Banque de France’s paper mill at a standstill

The production stopped last week in the printing house of Chamalières and consequently in the paper mill located in Vic-le-Comte, until further notice. Employees stay at home. The two sites, located in the Puy-de-Dôme region (Central France), are the production tools of the Banque de France, which provides 20 % of the production of euro banknotes, and manufactures banknotes in foreign currency. The printing house employs around 700 people and 300 people usually work in the paper mill. Source : “La Montagne” (French regional daily)
