That on June 1, Tore Hansesætre assumed the role of new CEO of Norske Skog? Having worked at Norske Skog since 2009, our new CEO knows the group well: he has held several positions within strategy and operations. For the past years, he has been in charge of strategic projects, including the two conversion projects in Austria and France.
‘I will hit the ground running. I know Norske Skog from the inside, and I have been involved in setting the strategy we have followed over the last years. I look forward to continuing to work closely with so many competent employees throughout the organization. Our employees are definitely an asset as we expand our operations to new markets,” says Tore Hansesætre
In these newsletters we normally focus on our conversion projects – but sometimes things happen in the organization are worthwhile mentioning. Tore Hansesætre’ appointment coincided with a dramatic landslide severely damaging the PM6 Norske Skog Saugbrugs mill in Halden, Norway. PM6 produces super calendared paper for folders and magazines. An estimated 35.000 tons of rocks (!) hit the wall of the building housing the PM6 – we are grateful nobody got injured, which is nothing short of a miracle! When the PM6 can re-start is still unknown, but it will take time.
