In France, the second biomass boiler at the Frouard plant is on its way.
Construction will begin in the fall, and commissioning is scheduled for 2025. The investment will allow the plant to reduce its CO2 emissions by 9,100 tons per year.
In Frouard, a biomass boiler has already been in operation for almost 10 years. When the second one is also at capacity, the two boilers together will produce 95 percent of the steam needed to heat the drying cylinders of the two paper machines.
This choice is part of the multi-option strategy the Group adopts in the various countries in which it operates, adapting energy policies to the climate, and regulatory context.
