The first International ZELLCHEMING Conference on cellulose-based materials planned for June 21-24, 2020, in Darmstadt, Germany, will not take place this year.
The background to this is the hygiene measures for the event, which had become necessary in view of the corona pandemic and for which numerous foreign participants were expected. Intensive investigations are currently underway to determine when the event can celebrate its postponed premiere. As soon as the new date is fixed, it will be announced.
The conference is a joint initiative of the association ZELLCHEMING e.V. with its technical committees and the Technical University of Darmstadt.
Prof. Dr. Markus Biesalski from TU Darmstadt, who chairs the program committee, says:
“The announcement of the kick-off event of the International ZELLCHEMING Conference on Cellulose-Based Materials met with a lively response. We are observing a great interest in this topic and we will definitely stick to the event!”.
The aim of this international conference is to bring together researchers from science and industry who are interested in R&D topics related to polysaccharides, paper-based materials and bioeconomy. Essentially it is our intention that chemical, physical, and engineering experts disseminate and discuss their findings, while also creating a completely new platform for close interaction of academia and industry.
