Present in Switzerland for 13 years with six sites, Paprec has become a minority shareholder in Helvetia Environnement, the Swiss leader in waste collection and treatment. This company employs 450 people spread over 22 sites and collects 350,000 t of waste per year.
After 14 years at the management of Helvetia Environnement and after having constituted, with the acquisition of Veolia SRS, the Swiss leader in waste collection and treatment, Vincent Chapel, Jean-Pierre Tetaz and the Chavaz family have decided to sell their participation in Helvetia Environnement to Paprec International.
“I thought it was time to get closer to an innovative group with an international dimension to accelerate the development of Helvetia Environnement,” stated Vincent Chapel, who headed this group. I have closely followed the progress of Paprec, specializing in recycling and the production of green energy, which today has a turnover of 3 billion euros. Helvetia Environnement needed a partner with this unique expertise. »
Institutional and financial investors, an energy infrastructure fund with exclusively Swiss investors (jointly managed by Swiss Life Asset Managers and UBS Asset Management) as well as an infrastructure fund (managed by Reichmuth Infrastructure), however, continue to hold the majority the society.
