Metsä Fibre, part of Metsä Group, has concluded the change negotiations on possible temporary layoffs at Joutseno pulp mill on 26 August 2024. The negotiations covered the entire workforce of the Joutseno pulp mill, a total of approximately 190 people.
After the change negotiations, it was decided that the Joutseno pulp mill will implement temporary layoffs for the personnel as needed due to the order backlog. The needed temporary layoffs will be implemented between September 2024 and January 2025 and will last for a maximum of 90 days. The allocation, amounts and dates of layoffs will be specified by the end of this year.
