Metsä Group’s Joutseno mills prepare for the 2025 maintenance shutdown

Metsä Group’s Joutseno mills will hold their annual maintenance shutdown during weeks 13–16. The production shutdown will begin department by department in the early part of week 13. During the maintenance shutdown, the mills will carry out necessary maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep work.

In addition to their own personnel, approximately 1,000 partners will work in the mill area during the maintenance shutdown.

“Regular annual maintenance shutdowns ensure the safe and efficient operation of the mills. Safety is our top priority. With a proactive approach and close cooperation, we can ensure a safe and smooth annual maintenance shutdown for all parties,” states Olli Kokki, Mill Director of the Joutseno pulp mill.

“The annual maintenance shutdown is a critical part of our mill’s long-term development work and safety assurance. Careful advance planning and cooperation with all parties are key to a successful shutdown. When everyone works towards common goals, we can ensure a safe, efficient, and on-schedule shutdown,” states Mika Purhonen, Mill Director of the Joutseno BCTMP mill.
