In mid-November, Fibre Excellence Provence, a market pulp mill located in Tarascon in the south of France, launched its annual maintenance shutdown. The shutdown, which was expected to last around ten days, has enabled the implementation of a number of maintenance and modernisation operations. As part of the plant’s investment drive, this shutdown mobilised all of the site’s employees as well as numerous service providers, most of them local. The shutdown was also an opportunity to prepare the installation of the Biowatt turbine, scheduled for the first half of 2023. Repair and cleaning work as well as equipment requalifications were also carried out to ensure the plant’s safe operation.
