Hinojosa Packaging Group is honored to receive the 2025 Pap’Awards for its sustainable development initiative. This award highlights its concrete commitment to the climate. Recognized by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the group’s efforts aim to significantly reduce its carbon footprint and align its environmental objectives with rigorous scientific standards.

An Ambitious and Measurable Commitment to the Climate

Hinojosa Packaging Group is taking a decisive step in its decarbonization strategy. Hinojosa’s climate targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company will significantly reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and achieve the Net-Zero standard by 2050.

Its emission reduction targets reflect a firm commitment to taking concrete action in the face of the climate emergency. By 2030, Hinojosa commits to reducing its absolute emissions by 60% for scopes 1 and 2, covering both direct emissions from fossil fuel consumption and those from purchased electricity.

The group also aims for a 42% reduction in scope 3, including emissions from fuels, transport, and distribution. In parallel, Hinojosa aims to achieve 100% renewable electricity supply, reinforcing its role as a responsible player in the industry.

A Trajectory Towards Carbon Neutrality

In 2023, Hinojosa Packaging Group recorded a 16% reduction in its emissions and carbon footprint compared to the previous year. In 2024, the share of renewable energy used in its production processes increased by 7 points, reaching 71% of total energy consumption. The group also strengthened its waste management policy, managing to recover more than 95% of the waste produced in 2023.

By 2028, Hinojosa intends to align 80% of emissions related to purchased goods and services with SBTi-validated targets. This is a major step towards a more sustainable supply chain. The company has also committed to achieving the Net-Zero standard by 2050, by reducing 90% of its emissions across all scopes. Hinojosa affirms its ambition to become a model for industrial decarbonization.
