ABB teams are dedicated to meeting with pulp and paper industry professionals to showcase proven technologies and innovative solutions developed for this essential industrial sector. Following the success achieved in France before the summer, ABB’s Pulp&Paper 2024 tour will return to our territory from October 7 to 15, 2024.
Specially designed for this purpose, ABB’s Pulp&Paper demonstration truck goes directly to customers’ production sites to showcase its automation, electrification, and digital solutions. Thanks to its industrial expertise, ABB supports papermakers in their expansion or modernization projects and helps them increase their competitiveness, achieve the highest quality standards, and reduce their energy consumption.
An Innovative European Tour
ABB’s Pulp&Paper tour presents a fully automated, optimized, and connected factory environment, complemented by equipment for paper machine and laboratory operators, all on board a truck.
The offers presented include in particular:
- A suite of ABB Ability™ digital solutions that makes it possible to exploit production site data to optimize processes and the installation’s energy performance and visualize all key indicators on a user-friendly dashboard.
- Applications covering order management, production planning, and quality management, to provide the efficiency and visibility necessary to optimize production via the ABB Ability™ execution management system.
- The entire integrated package is controlled by the ABB Ability™ 800xA system’s Extended Operator Workplace (EOW) environment, which can be integrated into paper mills’ control systems and many other advanced solutions.
- And also, laboratory elements such as the Autoline, a flagship product of the Lorentzen&Wettre measurement instrument range, which reliably and automatically handles a series of measurements essential for certifying product quality.

In October, the truck will mainly cross the eastern and southeastern regions of France before continuing its journey to Spain and then to other European destinations.
