Fastmarkets RISI, one of the most respected consulting firms in the pulp and paper industry, named Cristiano Teixeira, Klabin’s top executive, CEO of the Year in Latin America for 2021. The executive already had been named International CEO of the Year in the 12th PPI Awards of Fastmarkets RISI, which is the most coveted award in the global pulp and paper industry.
With a career spanning over 30 years, Teixeira has solid experience in the sector. Since joining Klabin in 2011, he has served in executive capacities in various areas, such as Supply Chain and the Corrugated Board, Industrial Sacks, Sackraft Paper and Containerboard divisions. Appointed Klabin CEO in 2017, since then he has led important transformations that have driven and accelerated the company’s growth.
Under his leadership, Klabin, which is recognized globally for its efforts in fostering sustainable development, has made important progress in ESG initiatives and commitments. These include disseminating the Klabin Agenda 2030, which introduced the Klabin Sustainable Development Goals (KODS), and verification of the greenhouse gas reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Klabin’s high engagement in ESG have made it the only Brazilian company to figure among the select group of COP26 Business Leaders, which is responsible for disseminating and engaging the private sector in the topic of climate change, as well as for contributing to the agendas of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) to be held in the United Kingdom in November.
