BLUE PAPER : 2013 – 2024: 4 Million Tons

On Sunday, July 21st, BLUE PAPER employees reached a cumulative production of 4 million tons of recycled fiber-based corrugated cardboard since the site was converted in 2013.

Since then, Blue Paper has been innovating and improving for sustainable development.

In a highly competitive economic environment and an increasingly demanding regulatory framework, BLUE PAPER, serving its customers, is pursuing a strategy based on three essential pillars:

  • Placing people and employees at the heart of our decisions through concrete actions
  • Committing to the development of the local territory
  • Being mobilized to reduce the environmental impact of activities

This industrial reconversion project has enabled this historic and emblematic site of the Strasbourg industry to perpetuate numerous jobs and an economic ecosystem that extends far beyond the site’s geographical perimeter.

Beyond the 150 million euros invested in 10 years, 50% of which was dedicated to decarbonization and reducing environmental impacts, BLUE PAPER has sought to anchor its history in its territory by favoring local suppliers, developing partnerships with several schools to promote learning, and innovating in future solutions such as the supply of decarbonized heat to urban heating networks.

BLUE PAPER would like to warmly thank its employees and partners for this success. Their expertise and team spirit have enabled Blue Paper to be recognized as a reference in its field of activity, inspiring many similar reconversion projects in Europe.

The shareholders Klingele Paper & Packaging Group and VPK Group, at the origin of this industrial vision, showed a constant unwavering support in good times and more difficult periods.
