In a statement released today, the Japanese producer Oji Group announced that it will establish a new corrugated container plant in Johor, Malaysia. The investment of €32 million will bring an additional capacity of 7 million m²/month. The plant should start production in January 2022 and will be operated by United Kotak Berhad, a wholly owned subsidiary of Oji Group.
This will be the 26th corrugated container plant of the group in South East Asia and India. In Malaysia, Oji is already operating 8 plants. The 9th one will be located in the Southern part of the country where demand growth is expected.
