ANDRITZ has received an order from AO Knauf Petroboard to install a new reeling section for the KM2 board machine at its mill in Kommunar, Russia. Start-up is scheduled for 2021.
The rebuild includes a new PrimeReel with new reel spools, drives and controls for maintaining even paper quality from first to last wrap on the jumbo roll. The new reel will reduce the present amount of rejects and enable the use of larger roll diameters, thus resulting in less frequent tambour changes.
The entire wet section (approach flow systems, wire section) as well as the complete electrical drive (MMD) of the KM2 were rebuilt by ANDRITZ in 2018. The board machine – with a basis weight range from 100-320 g/m2, a working width of 4,260 mm, and a design speed of 700 m/min – has an annual capacity of 155,000 t/a for production of gypsum board made using 100% waste paper as raw material.
This repeat order confirms ANDRITZ’s strong position as a long-term partner for the paper industry and one of the global market leaders for complete paper board production lines, rebuilds, and machine conversions.
