GKD at FILTECH 2024: Innovations for water management and hot gas filtration

GKD – Gebr. Kufferath AG will be presenting its latest technical mesh solutions at the FILTECH 2024 trade show in Cologne, Germany. “WEAVING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE” is the theme for GKD under which the world market leader from Germany will be showing how it is revolutionizing the process industry and municipal water management sector and making them future-proof with its innovative filtration and separation technologies. Being so close to the company’s headquarters in Düren, the FILTECH trade fair in Cologne has always been an important “home game” for GKD.

Key points at a glance:

  •  GKD is presenting cutting-edge mesh solutions for many areas of application, including the water management sector.
  • Highlights of the GKD exhibition booth (Hall 8, B19) include the patented CAPTURION road runoff filter for microplastic filtration and the TRIMETRIC and VOLUMETRIC filter meshes which have been especially customized for industrial dust and exhaust gas filtration in the automotive industry, as well as other areas.
  • GKD experts Markus Knefel, Dominik Herper, and Daniel Venghaus will be at the FILTECH conference to present the company’s Vortex technology, a proprietary water permeability test for porous materials, as well as the URBAN FILTER project, which is where the CAPTURION product was also developed.

Focus on water management

GKD will be presenting cutting-edge mesh solutions for water management at FILTECH 2024. The company’s innovative filter and separation technologies were specially developed to meet the needs of the process industry and municipal water management sector. One of the highlights is the patented CAPTURION system used for microplastic filtration. This technology is used in storm sewers to capture a large proportion of tire debris resulting from abrasion which would otherwise be carried into the environment by rainwater runoff.

Special mesh for hot gas filtration
In addition to solutions for water and microplastic filtration, the GKD booth will also be showcasing mesh technologies used for hot gas filtration. The focus here is on the TRIMETRIC and VOLUMETRIC filtration meshes which have been specifically optimized for industrial dust filtration and exhaust gas filtration in the automotive industry.

GKD experts on stage at the conference
A large number of experts from GKD will once again be attending the FILTECH conference this year, which is taking place at the same time as the trade show.

  • On Tuesday, November 12, at 1:00 pm, Markus Knefel, Senior Product Predevelopment & Development Expert, will present GKD’s Vortex technology – a patented, high-efficiency solution for the filtration and separation of continuously flowing air and liquids.
  • On Wednesday, November 13, at 4:45 pm, Dominik Herper (Research & Development) will speak about the “Water Permeability Test for Porous Materials”.
  • On Thursday, November 14, at 1:00 pm, Danial Venghaus, Key Market Manager for Water, together with the team from the Berlin Institute of Technology will be presenting their URBAN FILTER project where they tested the CAPTURION filter system under live conditions in Berlin’s urban traffic.

“We’re delighted that our expertise is appreciated and that we once again have the opportunity to present ourselves to the specialist  audiences at FILTECH this year,” says Dominik from Research & Development at the GKD Group.

A holistic approach for process solutions
GKD highly values a holistic approach when it comes to developing process solutions.

“Our strength lies in our comprehensive understanding of the processes used by our customers and offering them solutions tailored to meet their needs. All of our expertise flows into the development of industrial meshes and process belts, thus ensuring maximum efficiency and safety,” explains Michael Seelert, Director Market Segment Process Belts.

Come to the GKD booth at FILTECH 2024 in Cologne, Germany. Our experts will be waiting for you in Hall 8A, Booth B19, and are looking forward to having some lively discussions about the latest developments in filtration technology and its industrial use.
