On the occasion of the “Nuit du Papier” (Paper Night) held in Paris on April 4th, Hinojosa was honored for its innovative corrugated cardboard packaging dedicated to hydrosoluble capsules.
This prestigious award highlights Hinojosa’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the packaging industry. The corrugated cardboard packaging, dedicated to hydrosoluble detergent capsules, represents a major breakthrough in reducing environmental impact and offers a sustainable alternative to plastic.
Hinojosa, a player in the circular economy for over 75 years
Hinojosa is committed to researching and developing innovative and environmentally friendly packaging solutions. The group aims to promote a circular economy and contribute to the preservation of our planet for future generations.
This innovative packaging, dedicated to hydrosoluble detergent capsules and already awarded at the Liderpack Awards 2023, is made from 100% recyclable cardboard. By anticipating the needs of its customers, Hinojosa has patented this plastic-free packaging solution, which also reduces production costs thanks to its single-block design. The packaging has a secure closure, approved and certified by CIC, to prevent children from accessing the capsules.
This alternative to plastic boxes, traditionally used for this type of product, was developed in collaboration with SPB, a manufacturer of hygiene and cleaning products.
The “Nuit du Papier 2024” brought together the main industry leaders and representatives of public administrations. During the award ceremony, Jacques Cugnon, General Manager of Hinojosa Packaging Allard, highlighted the importance of sustainability in Hinojosa’s strategy. “We are very proud to see one of our innovations rewarded by experts in the field. This encourages us to continue to innovate and produce sustainable packaging that meets the needs of our customers and the industry.”
In 2023, Hinojosa consolidated its international expansion by acquiring 49% of the shares of the French company ASV Packaging. This initiative has strengthened the group’s position on the French market. The strategic presence of plants in France, Italy, Portugal and Spain has stimulated significant growth, leading to a 10% increase in its workforce.
Hinojosa has placed decarbonization at the heart of its priorities, in line with its environmental ESG commitments. In 2023, the group made significant progress, reducing its emissions and carbon footprint by 22% compared to the previous year.
