This week, the annual Tappi PEERS Conference is taking place in Atlanta, in conjunction with the IBBC-International Bioenergy & Bioproducts Conference. While this event has traditionally been popular among North American pulping and biomass professionals seeking to exchange knowledge and expertise on the latest technical trends in the sector, its audience has become increasingly international. This year, the conference welcomes participants from South America, Europe, and Africa, with over 300 delegates in attendance.
The central theme for this year’s conference is “Sustainability – Engineering & Technology for a Changing World”. It provides an opportunity for Tappi to honor some of its distinguished members with prestigious awards. Additionally, the younger generation is not overlooked, as three scholarship prizes, with a total value of USD 10,000, are being awarded to deserving students in the field of papermaking and bioproducts.
